Society for Technical Communication Competition
The 2012 competition deadline has passed. Check back in September 2013 for information about the 2013 competition.
Would you like to:
- Get valuable, objective feedback on your work?
- Gain formal recognition through awards for outstanding technical communication products that you or your company produced?
The STC Puget Sound chapter invites you to participate in the Society for Technical Communication’s competition for 2013. The competition is open to all technical communication professionals. You do not have to be a member of STC to participate.
Congratulations to all of our 2012 Puget Sound Competition winners! For a list of all of the award-winning entries, see 2012 Award Winners.
Valuable and Affordable and for all
The Puget Sound Technical Communication Competition is an excellent way to receive feedback for online help, tutorials, Web sites, reference books, brochures, and posters. Each entry will be evaluated by two judges who will give feedback and based on the Society for Technical Communication’s international standards.
The minimum competition cost is $70 per entry for members.
Entry Requirements
Entries must contain sufficient technical, scientific, medical, or similar content to qualify as technical communication.
Entries must also have been created or substantially revised within 24 months preceding the competition. This year, the competition has four categories:
- Informational Materials
- Instructional Materials
- Promotional Materials
- User Support Materials.
For more information about entry requirements, see the Competition Rules.
For more information on how to submit an entry for the competition, see How to Enter.
Level of Awards
There are three levels of recognition for each competition:
- Distinguished
- Excellence
- Merit
An awards banquet will be hosted on January 15 to celebrate award recipients. Contributors who receive Excellence or Distinguished awards in a local competition may also submit their entries in the 2012 International STC competitions.
