We are currently on vacation until the fall. We may plan some summer events but at the time we posted this message, we had nothing planned.
Thanks for making the 2017-18 year a really great on for the Puget Sound Chapter. In the meantime, we are looking for volunteers. If you’d like to volunteer for one of the following positions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
President, STC, Puget Sound Chapter
- Social Media Posting – You will post announcements of upcoming events. We will depend on you to market our events to bring in attendees on Meetup, LinkedIn, FaceBook, and other social media sites. This job takes up to 2 hours per month but there are specific times where you need to perform this work. We need you to post events on the 1st of each month and on the third weekend of each month prior to our chapter meeting.
- Bloggers – You are passionate about writing articles for a technical documentation audience. You might be a recent graduate and looking for a way to have your articles published or you might be a seasoned veteran with something you want to say. We’d love to hear your pitch and have your relevant topics posted on our site.
- Vice President – We have a need for someone to volunteer as the VP and to back up the President. Ideally, you would be someone who attends most of the chapter meetings. Generally, the VP becomes the President in the following year and uses their year as VP to become familiar with the job of President. That didn’t happen in my case and I would really like to help whomever wants to become the next President to have a smooth transition. But that is not an absolute requirement. In the short term, I’d like to have someone who could be present as a backup if I need to miss a meeting. It happened once last year and I don’t want it to happen again.
