Select the right competition for your entry
There are three competitions:
- The Online Competition includes forms of communication that are designed for and depend on an electronic medium for delivery. For more...
-
The Technical Publications Competition accepts only physical media (hardcopy) entries. For more...
-
The Technical Art Competition accepts physical media and online entries for both art and design. For more...
You can enter the same entry in more than one competition. For example, you can enter a book's cover in the Technical Art Competition and enter the same book in the Technical Publications Competition. However, if you enter the same entry in two competitions, you will be charged two entry fees (one for each competition).
If you are submitting a document that is published only as a Word or PDF file, use the following guidelines:
-
If the document is designed to be downloaded and read in typical hardcopy format, submit it to the Technical Publications Competition. Print and bind the document, and submit the bound copies with a note that the document is available only as a downloadable file and is not published in print.
-
If the document contains content that can be delivered only online, such as three-D models, movies, or simulations, submit it to the Online Competition.

Prepare the entry form
Download and complete an entry form for each entry you submit.
Be sure to include adequate information about the audience, purpose, and goal of your communication piece. The judges will consider these factors when they evaluate your entry. Remember that the judges may be unfamiliar with the type of product, service, or process your document supports, as well as the needs and expectations of its intended audience. If you provide thorough information, you will get more meaningful feedback from the judges. You will also be more likely to win an award.

make sure you provide instructions and a guest account that provides
